Christ School Weekend - 2005

It's not all about football!
(is it?)
| In 1911, the Asheville School played Christ School, an Episcopal boys school located about 10 miles away in what is now Arden, in football for the first time. Asheville won 84-0. | ||
| For whatever reason, the two boys schools did not play each other again until 1919. Asheville stomped Christ School 98-0. | ||
| Asheville's domination over Christ School continued in games held in 1922, '23, & '24. The Greenies simply could not score a point. . . . |
Until the next game in 1926; the Greenies won 26-13. The teams didn't play again until 1933.
The two school have played
against each other since, in what is now North Carolina's
longest continuous prep school rivalry.
But it's not all about football. Not by a long shot.
